Chinese tech giants like ByteDance, Tencent, Baidu, and Alibaba have a strong demand for Nvidia's HPC products. ByteDance alone has ordered around $1 billion worth of Nvidia GPUs in 2023. Despite export restrictions, Chinese companies are investing heavily in HPC hardware to prevent the West from dominating AI. The volume of orders from Chinese tech giants is overwhelming China's distributor chain, leading to direct negotiations with Nvidia. The significance of ByteDance's orders is notable, considering Nvidia's H800 cards only began production in March.

It can generate high-quality audio clips in different styles and languages, perform tasks like noise removal and content editing, and outperforms existing models. Voicebox is based on the Flow Matching method and trained on large diverse data. Although the model is not publicly available, audio samples and a research paper have been shared. It represents an important advancement in generative AI for speech. Meta is aware of the potential dangers of this technology and treading carefully with its deployment.
